According to ABC13, the two staff members, who have been identified as Lisa Jo Cooper, 61, and Kecia Danielle Johnson, 57, were captured on camera getting physical with the resident after he had reportedly fallen out of bed (1). One of the former employees was seen kicking the resident while he was on the ground and shortly after, both were forcefully pushing him into his bed.
Because the incident did result in the resident suffering injuries, he was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The family later spoke with the news source, saying that it was the cameras they had installed in his room that helped them bring the two employees to justice.
According to the family, the workers had told them that their grandfather had fallen out of bed. However, after viewing the surveillance footage, they quickly learned that was not the case at all. After the footage was released, the two employees were charged with injury to the elderly, a second-degree felony, shares ABC13. Both were issued $100,000 bonds of which one reportedly posted.
